Drone guide: Rules and guidelines for using a drone

Are you planning to visit Norway during the holidays and want to take pictures using a drone? In that case, the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority would like you to get to know the rules for flying a drone in a safe and considerate manner.  Get to know the 5 basic guidelines for flying a drone here.

Filming not allowed in the National Parks:
The use of drone is prohibited in both the Jotunheimen National Park and the Utladalen Landscape Protection Area. Parts of the conservation area are particularly vulnerable in nature, while other parts are particularly important outdoor areas. As the regulations do not have specific rules for exemptions, there are strict rules for getting the exemption to use a drone. Production of nature films and films for destination marketing has previously been authorized to use helicopters for filming. In such cases, the use of drone may have less impact than the helicopter option. But filming with drone for private use, documenting activity, marketing individual activities and businesses etc., is not allowed in the protected areas.
