Mountain Dining

The Jotunheimen mountain region is known for its rich and unique food culture. A lot of people arrives in the search of a tasteful experience, to gain knowledge about the raw materials and to hunt for the real taste of the mountains.

Restaurants in both hotels and mountain lodges serve local dishes based on old traditional recipes. The meal often consists of meats such as reindeer, deer, elk and lamb that have been grazing in the mountains and forests in the area. Berries and mushrooms comes from the forests near by, and many herbs and vegetables are grown organically. The fish comes from local mountain lakes and rivers.

The real taste of the mountain awaits you in Lom and Jotunheimen.
