About

Bøverdalen Veksthågå is a small market garden nestled between the mountains in Lom, growing local, unsprayed vegetables. The produce is sold directly to local customers through a self-service farm stand in Lom town center and the local food store Smak i Lom. Additionally, Veksthågå supplies local businesses and restaurants.

The market garden was established in 2022, marking its first year of production. The same land has been used as a kitchen garden for generations, both for self-sufficiency and for sale. The garden is run by Ingvild Visdal Aukrust, who grew up on the farm where it is located—Sygard Aukrust.

Our Produce

Bøverdalen Veksthågå grows vegetables in open fields and raises all plants from seed. The goal is to provide high-quality local produce while contributing to increased local food production. Growing a wide variety of crops is an essential part of running a market garden. Some of the vegetables cultivated include sugar snap peas, lettuce, carrots, rutabaga, cauliflower, squash, and onions—among many others!

Bøverdalen Veksthågå does not use pesticides or artificial fertilizers. The garden primarily uses Norwegian-produced seeds and grows seedlings on-site.

Self-Service Farm Stand

During the summer, you can purchase fresh vegetables from our self-service stands on designated opening days. One stand is located at the entrance to the road leading to the market garden (Kvålsvegen 12, 2686 Lom), and another can be found in Lom town center, near Bakeriet.
