Lom Brewery produces beer under the brand Lomb. The microbrewery was founded in 2016 by Olav Grjotheim and Ola Gjeilo, who have been dedicated to brewing high-quality beer ever since.
Production
The brewery operates in a former barn at the Grjotheim farm in Lia, which has been converted into a full-scale production facility, handling brewing, bottling, and storage for up to 70,000 liters of beer annually.
The Name "Lomb"
The name LOMB was historically used as the spelling for Lom during the Danish rule from the 1500s until the rise of Landsmål and Nynorsk in the 1800s. At that time, priests and officials wrote the name as they perceived it to be pronounced by the locals. The name Lom originates from Lo’om, meaning "the grassy plains by the water."
