Welcome to Brimi Sæter, a living mountain farm at the foot of Jotunheimen!
At Brimi Sæter, we want you, as our guest, to feel like part of something genuine.
Experience traditional mountain farm life, breathe in the fresh mountain air, take in the stunning nature, savor delicious farm-to-table meals, and feel a deep sense of peace settle over you—just as it does here at the sæter.
These experiences and flavors are ones we hope will stay with you long after you’ve returned home.
Our year-round packages always include a comfortable, made-up bed and carefully prepared meals made from local ingredients, giving you a complete sæter experience.
Accommodation is available in traditional mountain farmhouses and cozy bunks in the hayloft. During summer, we also offer three lavvu tents for rent.
Different Seasons Throughout the Year
Spring
In spring, the sæter awakens from its winter slumber.
This season is perfect for those looking for a weekend getaway with good friends or a special celebration in unique surroundings, where nature, food, and lasting memories go hand in hand.
From around May 20th until the summer season begins, we offer weekend packages with accommodation and exceptional dining experiences.
Summer
From approximately June 20th to August 20th, the sæter is full of life, with cows, calves, sheep, hens, pigs, a dog, and a cat—all waiting to greet you.
You can watch how our traditional sæter cheese is made, relax in the farmyard, or explore the surrounding mountains.
During this period, we offer 1-night and 2-night packages.
Our summer farm café is open during the day, serving dishes made from local ingredients, prepared with great respect for sæter traditions.
A highlight of your stay is our four-course "Skråpå-tå" menu, a guest favorite.
This special dinner is included in all our packages, served every evening in summer and on Saturdays during the shoulder seasons. We also welcome table reservations for those not staying overnight.
Autumn
In autumn, we invite you to atmospheric weekends with scenic mountain hikes, delicious food, and storytelling at the long table.
The autumn season lasts until late October, with set weekend packages available.
Winter
The sæter is not open for regular stays during winter, but we host select weekends with festive Christmas dinners during Advent.
